Semester Recap
Well the semester is one final away from being done for me. This semester was very eye opening to me and I'm glad I finally have some sort of direction for the future. Before this semester I had no idea what I was going to do with my life, I am still not 100% what I would like to do but I know I want to do something to do with a television operations set. Thanks to signing up for COMM100 I was forced to join COMM120 and this is the class that really made me realize, "This is what I want to do." While this semester wasn't my most successful semester of my 3 semesters at TC3 I am still pleased with this semester because I now have some direction to my future. My instructors were some of the most eye opening instructors I could have ever asked for. Well, see everyone next semester have a good break and enjoy it.
Joe Klein's Trip
Joe Klein’s article about his road trip from New York City to Los Angeles is a very eye opening article in which Klein expresses his opinions on the truth about politics. Klein is the kind of guy that will tell everything how he views it, he thinks with reasoning. His reason for this trip was to prove to everyone that just because they see/hear something on TV that is positive about our economy/politics doesn’t mean that everything is happy happy joy joy. Kleins methods in attempt to get his point across to us Americans is unbelievably different than that of other journalists, he straight up tells it how it is.
His view on politics is one of the reasons why he can strongly influence people to believe what he is sharing with all of us. He proves that just because we hear something on the TV about,”Hey if you vote for me I promise that the economy will eventually be better than it is” by no means should anyone believe that. Klein’s main use of making controversy is over the latest presidential election. When Obama was elected, all of the Americans who wanted and voted for Obama to be president were very pleased that he had won, and a couple months later everyone was displeased with what he has done as a president. Goes to show that most people get hyped up over what politics say in commercials and debates before they can even do anything about what they are saying they will do. One of Klein’s main points in this article and trip is to show that this often happens more than most people notice. Almost every election ends up the same way and us as Americans need to realize that and to dig deeper than the sound bites when it comes to any kind of election.
